It's proably easy to guess what most of the work on this page went toward. The advancing wall of souls uses a few tecniques that are pretty new for me... very experimental. THere's ALOT going on there so it's probably hard to pick out individual elements, but there are ALOT of them. One of the 3d tricks I learned recently is that you can place a texture on a plane and make the background of that image transparent. It's nothing revolutionary, and not too difficult but it's a huge transition between what you can make when you do and don't know about that.

I've used this trick earlier... the bloodstains in Arthur's room use this method.

But here's where it gets experimental. This time around I didn't use planes... I didn't apply these textures to flat surfaces. The swirling storms of souls surrounding William is a transparent texture placed on a cylinder. Copy that a few times, throw in alot of purple fire. And add in a swarm of souls on planes (which aren't flat in this case, more curved) and boom, I've got a chaotic swarm of death and destruction rushing down the hallway.

This might be a new way for me to do special effects for Suppression... It's easier for me to work with than photoshop... easier to keep consistent.
